We spent a decade building the systems unions run on. Now we're building the tools that help them grow.

Where we come from

We've spent over a decade solving hard technical problems for unions - member management systems handling 70,000+ members, dues calculation engines, dispatching, pension and benefits contributions, hourbank logic. The unglamorous infrastructure that makes labour organizations actually function.

That work gave us something most research tools don't have: a deep understanding of how unions operate, what organizers actually need, and how to build systems that hold up under real-world conditions.

What we found

While building organizing platforms, we kept running into the same wall: research. Even with a strong bullshit filter and technical horsepower, the process of digging into a target is brutal.

Scrolling socials for signals. Chasing connections. Trying to record what you find before the thread goes cold. Digging back into the new leads that turn up. It's slow, it's fragmented, and most of the tools weren't built for this work.

Why we exist

The gap was too big to ignore.

Agitation Institute exists to close it. We build research tools and intelligence products that give union organizers the same quality of information that management has been buying for years - without the enterprise price tag and without the learning curve. Public-source research, processed fast, structured for action.

How we work

Everything we produce is built on lawful public-source research. No surveillance, no grey-market data. We apply evidence discipline to everything - confidence calls on every signal, clear sourcing, and honest assessments of what we know versus what we're inferring.

Recommendations are practical. Every report is written so an organizer can act on it, not just read it.
